Venus Williams comeback trail is going smoothly. This time around, she knocked out fourth seed Patty Schnyder out of the Amelia Island Championship. Pretty much like her younger sister Serena Williams who has return to the tennis court with a Grand Slam victory, Venus looks committed to attain same feat.
Former world number 1, Venus Williams has always been a driving force in the women tennis circuit but injuries and emergence of younger players like Sharapova, Clijsters, Hantuchova and Vadisova has taken some sheen out from her record and her ranking is pretty abysmal at the moment but if she continues to play like this, there is no stopping her.
Against Schnyder, Venus loss the first set because of unforced errors but in the second and third set she was at her best and gives no chance to world number 16 to come back into the match. This victory means that Williams will now face fellow American Meilen Tu, who knocked out 17th seed Martina Muller in straight sets, in the third round.
